Ms. Wheelchair MD 2013 - Patrina Franklin

On Sunday, December 9, 2012 I attended the Ms. Wheelchair MD/DC Organization 2nd Annual Teen Holiday Extravaganza. Although, the title reads Teen (10-17) there were children of all ages. It was such a great feeling to witness the children and teens wait eagerly and excitedly to take pictures with our special guest Santa. All who attended were able to enjoy live music, eat delicious food and receive multiple amazing gifts. As I rolled around the room i was able to capture many candid moments with everyone as they participated in the various activities offered such as stuffing snowflake and penguin pillows, decorating and designing pictures to place in frames and creating personalized charm bracelets. Even the parents and volunteers were able to enjoy the festivities as they we’re given raffle tickets to win wonderful gifts. No one was left empty handed. The holiday season was celebrated joyfully!!!

My night at the Dateable & CP Group Las Vegas/Holiday party on December 7, 2012 was full of laughter, joking and fun. As I entered I was greeted by Robert in his black and white captain’s hat. Members had the choice of playing Poker, Blackjack and Roulette however, I kept my good luck going at the Blackjack table. Who would have thought my first time playing Blackjack I would get 21 three times in a row (if only I could win $ 340,000 in real cash). A lot of people had better luck winning more than that. Everyone was able to use their winnings, bidding later at the auction, on cool prizes like a popcorn maker, gingerbread house kit and jewerly etc… Even a date with Ms. Wheelchair Maryland 2013 was also auctioned. I will have the pleasure of attending dinner with a lucky member who bet millions of dollars! The Dateable & CP Group Las Vegas/Holiday party was truly a exciting night and eventful experience.
