Advocating for people with disabilities
We are planning our 5th Annual Disabilities Awareness Experience in the beautiful Downtown Silver Spring at 916 Ellsworth Drive, Silver Spring, MD on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Our goal is to unite communities and organizations for the purpose of raising awareness, and support meaningful inclusion of people with disabilities and their families in every aspect of life. The Disabilities Awareness Experience brings awareness and education to all individuals regarding disability resources, prevention and education, healthy and independent living, and recreational resources.
Ms. Wheelchair Maryland would like to invite you and your consumers to join us. As a important member of our community we would be honored to have your presence at our event. We are all striving to make people aware of the challenges that are faced with individuals with disabilities. See you there!
5th Annual Disabilities Awareness Experience
On December 12, 2013 the National Rehabilitation Hospital had their annual holiday party. It was a pleasure mingling with my therapist and current patients. At this event I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Wheelchair DC 2014. The National Rehabilitation Hospital is an aggressive therapeutic Hospital which aims to restore as much function to their patients. The dedicated staff work with patients and their families to ensure a positive outcomes.
On Saturday, January 11, 2014 and Sunday, January 12, 2014 NBC 4 held their annual health and fitness Expo. Have a healthy and prosperous year !

A day filled with a series of events helping to create awareness to improve the lives of people living with disabilities. All are welcome! Families, friends, adults, children, care providers – there’s something for everyone, and every age!
