Bethesda, Maryland — November 4, 2006 – Introducing Ms. Wheelchair Maryland 2007, Cathy Porter. Ms. Porter accepted the crown from her predecessor, Liza Patchel. The crowning took place Saturday evening during an intimate dinner gala at the Doubletree Hotel in Bethesda, Md. During Ms. Porter’s year-long reign, she will travel the state promoting the Ms. Wheelchair Maryland and Ms. Wheelchair America programs as well as her platform: Self-Defense and Security for the Wheelchair User. Next July, Ms. Porter will represent Maryland in the Ms. Wheelchair America 2008 competition to be held in Bethesda, MD.

Rockville, Maryland — November 8, 2004 – Introducing Ms. Wheelchair Maryland 2005, Joy Limo. Ms. Limo accepted the crown from her predecessor, Juliette Rizzo of Rockville, MD, the reigning Ms. Wheelchair America. The crowning took place Sunday evening during an intimate dinner gala at the DoubleTree Hotel in Rockville, Maryland. During Ms. Limo’s year-long reign, she will travel the state promoting the Ms. Wheelchair Maryland and Ms. Wheelchair America programs as well as her platform: Has the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Gone Far Enough. Next July, Ms. Limo will represent Maryland in the Ms. Wheelchair America 2006 competition to be held in Albany, NY.

Richmond, VA–August 1, 2004– Following a week-long competition with women from around the country, Juliette Rizzo of Rockville, Maryland, was crowned last night as Ms. Wheelchair America 2005, in Richmond, Virginia, at the 32nd annual Ms. Wheelchair America Program. Rizzo will embark on a year-long reign, traveling the country to speak and advocate on behalf of the more than 50-million Americans with disabilities.
